Hope Organization for Community Development (HOFCD) successfully organized a free thalassemia blood transfusion camp in Mailsi, providing life-saving support to child patients suffering from thalassemia in District Vehari, Punjab.
Mailsi, Vehari — Hope Organization for Community Development (HOFCD) successfully conducted a free Thalassemia Blood Transfusion Camp in Mailsi, providing life-saving blood transfusion services to children and patients suffering from thalassemia in District Vehari, Punjab.
Thalassemia is a blood disorder that requires patients — primarily children — to undergo regular blood transfusions every 2 to 4 weeks for their entire lives. Without access to free, safe blood transfusions, thousands of children in rural Punjab face severe health complications and early death. HOFCD is committed to bridging this gap.
Services Provided at the Camp
- Free blood transfusion services for registered thalassemia patients
- Blood group typing and cross-matching for new patients
- Medical consultations with qualified physicians
- Hemoglobin level monitoring and record maintenance
- Counseling for patient families on managing thalassemia
- Patient registration for ongoing support programs
Impact in Numbers
In this camp alone, over 40 thalassemia patients received free blood transfusions, including 28 children under the age of 14. HOFCD volunteers and medical staff worked tirelessly to ensure safe, dignified care for every patient.
A Message from HOFCD Leadership
President Azam Ali stated: "Every child with thalassemia deserves to live with dignity and hope. HOFCD exists to ensure that no family in Mailsi and Vehari is turned away from the care their child needs simply because of financial constraints. We are grateful to our donors and volunteers who make these camps possible."
